“There’s a luthier in Melbourne called Ben Puglisi who has been basically the guy I have been taking my bass to for years to do repairs and to help me with these wacky ideas about setting them up. The good thing about him, he can set up a beautiful French bass for a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra guy and make it sound perfect for that purpose, but he can also appreciate what I do with the double bass as well, which is worlds apart from the MSO guy. (..)

He kind of gets a kick out of trying to build them tough and get them to sound right for rock’n’roll and all that kind of stuff as well. He’s always been a bit of a shining light in my life.”
